Hasidic were accustomed to wander throughout the year from city to city as beggars and learn the meaning of humility.
They have never stayed in any town for less than a day despite the humiliation, which could suffer.
They have never stayed in any city for more than two nights, even if they met with hospitality.
In 1760 Rabbi Elimelech from Lezajsk (in Yiddish: Lizhensk, Lezansk, Lezhaysk, Lzhansk) and his brother Zusje from Annopol traveled by Poland from city to city. One afternoon, two brothers arrived exhausted and hungry to a small town.
Although they were hungry, they could not eat.
Although they were exhausted, they could not sleep.
Felt something they had never before endured. Inexpressible feeling overcame their fear. Care about their terrible fear. Overcame their deepest sorrow.
In the middle of the night they left a town and never returned to it.
This city is called in Hebrew Uszpizin (germ.Auschwitz, pl. Oswiecim).

Others prisoners who were witnesses to this fact saying that the Bratslav Hasidic dancing and singing entered the gas chambers at Auschwitz.
In this way, they managed to prove that in the middle of Hell by the end of the other human beings, not giving up maimed or humiliate, not to die before they are destroyed.
Because it is not the Creator died in Auschwitz, but died only a man.

Officer SS went out to greet us with a baton in his hand. He threw the command: Men to the left! Women to the right!
These few words uttered softly, calmly, without emotion. Few simple, short words. But for me it was a moment of parting with my mother. I have not had time to think, but I felt my fathers handshake. We were left alone. For a split second I saw even my mother and sister, which is guided to the right. Czipora held his mothers hand. I saw how disappear in the distance. The mother stroked her hand on my sister blonde hair, as if she wanted to protect her.
I stayed with my father and other men. I did not realize then in this instance, in this place, in this moment I lost my mother and sister for ever.
